Wild Cherries & Waterfalls

The Waterfall Canyon Trail in Ogden, Utah, is just five minutes from my house and offers a great mix of challenge and fun. My nephew, who’s heading off on his LDS mission to Tokyo soon, joined me for this hike, making it even more special. The trail starts off pretty intense with a steep incline that really gets your heart pumping. We were both huffing and puffing a bit, but the promise of a cool waterfall kept us going.

As we hiked, we discovered wild cherry trees along the trail. We couldn't resist picking some cherries, and they turned out to be a delicious, sweet treat that gave us a little extra energy boost. Sharing these moments with my nephew made the hike more memorable, especially knowing he’ll be leaving soon.

When we finally reached the waterfall, it was totally worth the climb. The cool mist from the falls was refreshing and felt amazing after the sweaty hike up. We spent some time just enjoying the view and cooling off in the spray. It was the perfect spot to relax and take in the beauty of nature.

Heading back down was a lot easier and gave us a chance to chat more and enjoy the surroundings at a slower pace. The whole experience was a great mix of exercise, adventure, and bonding time. The Waterfall Canyon Trail is definitely a must-do if you’re in the area, especially if you want a fun and rewarding outdoor activity close to home.
